In December 2019, the outbreak of COVID-19 started in Wuhan, China. In February 2020, the first UK transmission is confirmed. In March, the UK Government imposed regulations and restrictions aimed at containing the spread of the coronavirus and in late March, the Government announce a nationwide lockdown. 

Women's Resource Centre, together with Rosa the UK Fund for Women and Girls and Women's Fund for Scotland, conducted a nationwide survey to gain insight into the effect of COVID-19 on the UK women's sector. The findings from the survey demonstrate some of the challenges that the COVID-19 crisis poses for the UK's women's sector both in the short-term and long-term.
