In September 2018, Women’s Resource Centre launched a new women’s leadership project!
The six groups of Women Leaders have created social action projects as part of this programme.
Find out more about the different projects HERE.
The below is the brief the groups were given when signing up to this programme.
We are excited to announce that we have been awarded funding from the Women’s Vote Centenary Fund (Government Equalities Office) for a new and innovative social change leadership programme for women!
The programme will provide you with practical skills in leadership that you will be able to apply in your own organisation and in your own life and community. It will train you in identifying social issues and equip you with the skills and knowledge to make real and tangible change.
This programme is FREE and requires about 5 days of commitment.
Content of programme
2 days intensive training
- Investigating and exploring what makes a successful leader and a leader of social change
- Explores topics related to power, organisational cultures and structures, the relationship between leadership and empowerment, self-care and emotional intelligence.
- Build skills in public speaking and advocacy
Peer Action Learning
You will meet with your group in a peer learning session. The session will support you to identify social issues in your community and enable you to become an instigator of social change through policy and practice. The session will also involve your active participation in the organisation of the Showcase event.
Peer Networking Event
In this virtual event you will meet all the participants of the programme across the country. It will be an opportunity for you to network, share learning and discuss potential collaborations and partnerships.
Showcase Event in the House of Lords
This event will be partly organised by you and your group of social change-makers. It will be an opportunity for you to meet other participants of the programme as well as women in leadership positions, such as Members of Parliament, CEOs and heads of organisations. You will be able to share learning and reflections from the programme and to celebrate the impact of the programme and International Women’s Day. It will be a chance for you and the aspirational leaders of tomorrow to meet women leaders of today.
