Training & Events Training & Events Calendar NBWL Elevate Session | Your Next Chapter: Designing Career Growth With Intention Careers are rarely straight lines. For many Black women, our professional journeys are shaped by ambition, opportunity, responsibility, survival, reinvention and the need to keep moving through systems not always designed with us in mind. You may be thinking about your next role, a career pivot, a return after a pause, a move into leadership, or simply asking yourself, 'What do I want now?' In this reflective and practical Network for Black Women Leaders Elevate Session*, Executive Coach Ashana Crichton will help Black women think intentionally about the next stage of their professional lives. Drawing on the idea of “Squiggly Careers” and a “Board of Directors” approach to mentorship, this session will explore how you can prepare for career growth. Rather than expecting one mentor, manager or opportunity to provide all the answers, we will look at how to build a wider circle of guidance, advocacy and perspective around your career. We will also explore how to move away from rigid career ladders and towards a more flexible, strengths-led approach to growth. This is not about having every step mapped out. It is about creating space to reflect on what you might need in order to unlock future career success, making your next chapter feel more intentional and less overwhelming. What to Expect This will be an interactive session with reflection prompts, coaching questions and practical tools to help you think differently about your career growth. After 45-minutes of content, we’ll open the floor to our members and guests for a 45-minute interactive discussion and Q&A session. Together, we will explore: What “Squiggly Careers” can teach us about change, possibility and reinvention. How to unlock success for the next stage of your professional life. How to create your own “Board of Directors” for guidance, challenge, sponsorship and support. Practical next steps so you can be accountable for your career growth. *Sessions are not recorded. Attend live to be part of the conversation. Who Should Attend This session is for Black women of African and Caribbean heritage who are thinking about what comes next professionally. It will be especially useful if you are: Considering a career move or transition, feeling stuck, unclear or ready for change. Preparing for promotion or greater responsibility. Rebuilding confidence after a difficult work experience. Looking for a more intentional approach to career growth. Thinking about who you need around you to support your next chapter. Whether you are at a crossroads, quietly questioning your next move, or ready to take a more strategic step forward, this session will help you pause, reflect and begin designing your career growth with intention.
