Our Work Leadership Programmes Network for Black Women Leaders (NBWL) Jaiye Elias wins Trailblazing Innovator Award at the 2026 Do it Now Now Awards We are delighted to share that Jaiye Elias, Lead for the Network for Black Women Leaders (NBWL) at Women’s Resource Centre, has won the Trailblazing Innovator Award at the 2026 Do it Now Now Awards. The Do it Now Now Awards celebrate Black-led organisations and leaders creating meaningful change in their communities. The awards recognise “outstanding leadership, impact and commitment” and shine a light on the people and organisations “building power, shifting systems, and delivering real-world impact”. Jaiye received the Trailblazing Innovator Award in recognition of her work developing the Network for Black Women Leaders into a trusted, culturally relevant space for Black women. NBWL was built in response to a clear unmet need. Too often, Black women are navigating leadership, career progression and visibility in environments where they are under-recognised, unsupported and expected to tirelessly carry on in spaces that do not reflect their lived experiences. The network is a space where Black women can come as they are, be seen fully, and access support that is both practical and affirming. Through mentoring, coaching, events, workshops and community-building opportunities, NBWL has created an environment for the kinds of conversations and support Black women often struggle to find elsewhere. Its approach combines professional development with warmth, honesty, connection and culturally relevant care. A key part of Jaiye’s work has been the development of a highly diverse events series and launching the NBWL mentoring programme, established to meet growing demand from Black women for trusted guidance and leadership support. This award is well-deserved recognition of Jaiye’s leadership, vision and care, and of the importance of building support that truly serves Black women. Congratulations to Jaiye on this outstanding achievement. Manage Cookie Preferences
