A simple way to bring in a bit of extra funding

We at WRC know well the financial pressure our members are under. The funding landscape is not designed for the women’s sector, which is marked by increased demand but decreased availability of funds.

This is one of the reasons WRC work hard to create and find alternative, sustainable sources of funding for the women’s sector. We wanted to share a small, practical way to bring in some additional unrestricted income. We’ve partnered with easyfundraising so WRC member organisations can access a free way to raise funds through everyday online shopping.

How it works

People who support your organisation, from staff and volunteers to friends and family, sign up to support you through easyfundraising.

When they shop online with participating retailers (including Tesco, eBay, M&S, Argos, Booking.com and many others), the retailer sends a small donation to your organisation.

It doesn’t cost the shopper anything extra, and their shopping experience stays the same.

On its own the donations are small, but over time they can add up and provide a bit of flexible funding that you can use wherever it’s most needed.

How it is useful

• Free to join and use
• Donations are unrestricted, so you decide how to spend them
• Supporters don’t need to change how they shop
• It can run alongside your existing fundraising without adding much extra work
