UK Women’s March 2025 have organised protests across the UK for this Saturday (January 18th). The protests come two days before Donald Trump’s inauguration in the United States, representing the entrenchment of misogyny in the highest and most influential office in the world, with inevitable consequences far beyond the US borders. We are increasingly seeing the weaponisation of VAWG for right-wing agendas - from the riots in UK cities last summer after the murder of three young girls in Southport, to the more recent unsolicited and racist views on grooming gangs by Elon Musk. When powerful forces like these threaten our progressive values, we have a duty to come together and resist.
Anger into Action
One of the national coordinators of the march, Carolyn, says: “For me, this march is a powerful act of resistance, a chance to demand change, and a way to honour the strength and resilience of women around the world... It’s about turning anger into action and hope into a movement that cannot be ignored”.
Local protests
22 protests have been confirmed and will be taking place: London, Bristol, Cardiff, Edinburgh, Birmingham, Bournemouth, Liverpool, Brighton, Cambridge, Canterbury, Exeter, Glasgow, Leeds, Lincoln, Manchester, Middlesbrough, Newcastle, Northampton, Nottingham, Plymouth, Sheffield and Belfast.
Take action!
Please print and hand out our flyers (below) at the march, which spotlights a campaign calling for a National Women’s Fund to tackle the chronic underfunding crisis faced by women’s organisations that are providing life-saving services across the UK.
