The purpose of the Green Paper was to examine how social action, one of the
cornerstones of the ‘Big Society’ can become an established part of our culture.
‘Social action’ refers to ‘people giving their time, their money or their assets,
knowledge and skills, to support good causes and help make life better for all.’
