About the London VAWG Consortium
The London VAWG Consortium is made up of 29 organisations working in partnership to deliver comprehensive, cost effect, high quality services to all communities across London.
This innovative partnership strengthens referral pathways across organisations
and identifies trends and emerging need.
Ascent is a project undertaken of the London Violence Against Women and Girls (VAWG) Consortium, delivering a range of services for survivors of domestic and sexual violence, under six themes, funded by London Councils.
The six themes are:
- Advice and Counselling
- Domestic and Sexual Violence Helplines
- Ending Harmful Practices
- Specialist Refuge
- Support Services to Organisations
Ascent improves service provision for those affected by sexual and domestic violence in London through the provision of front-line services as well as support to voluntary and statutory organisations.

Support Services to Organisations
Women’s Resource Centre is the lead partner in the Support Services Strand where we work together with 5 partner organisations:
The second tier support project aims to address the long term sustainability needs of organisations providing services to those affected by sexual and domestic violence. The project seeks to improve the quality of such services across London by providing a range of training and support. To find out more about the Ascent second tier project, please see here.
WRC is offering 10 FREE sustainability training sessions per year as part of the Ascent project, on topics such as:

– Monitoring and Evaluation for Small Charities
– Project Management
– Finances in Joint Projects and Consortia
– Unconscious Bias
– Introduction to Commissioning
– Perfecting the Pitch
– Train the Trainer
– Fundraising and Governance
WRC also organises four special events per year. The special events are an excellent and highly valued place for organisations working with those experiencing VAWG to come together to share learning and best practice, find new collaborations and partnerships, and to discuss and debate current issues facing the sector.
