Job Title: Angelou Manager Salary: £31,000 – £35,000 per annum dependent on experience

The role: Angelou is an innovative partnership of 10 specialist organisations working together to provide an intersectional response to violence against women and girls. This is an exciting opportunity to be involved in leading Advance’s work as part of Angelou, managing a team of caseworkers, core and specialist IDVAs and a senior IDVA with responsibility for the Duty service. The Advance Angelou Service is the main referral pathway for accessing VAWG services across three boroughs as well as providing ongoing project and case work. The Angelou Manager will oversee the front door of the service, maintaining effective and timely responses to enquiries and referrals. The post-holder will also take the lead in day-to-day crisis situations and provide day-to-day advice and guidance on casework, safeguarding and data protection.

What you will bring: The successful candidate for this role will have wide ranging, demonstrable experience in either delivering domestic abuse services or managing a team working with complex cases/vulnerable people

In short, you will have:

• A thorough understanding of violence against women and girls with a particular focus on domestic violence (physical, emotional and sexual violence, so-called ‘honour- based violence’, forced marriage and FGM)

• An excellent understanding of the impact of domestic violence on children and young people, families and communities

• A good understanding of the operation of the criminal justice system, MARAC and public sector environment in which services operate. • Experience of supervision/coaching of staff or volunteers, of managing performance and achieving targets through others

• A proven track record of building and maintaining networks and working with partner agencies and other stakeholders to develop and deliver services

• The ability to advocate successfully using evidence and professional experience.
