What is it about?

Staff wellbeing was a major concern amongst respondents to WRC's survey on the impact of COVID-19 on the women's sector. The pandemic will have an impact on both our professional and personal lives. It can have negative impacts on us both on professional and personal levels and due to a variety of reasons, including anxiety related to working with marginalised women whose disadvantages risk exacerbating, worries about personal and family's physical and mental health, working while having caring responsibilities, 'social media envy' and more. 

This session is about self-reflection. There is no one-size fits all approach to well-being and we don't have 'the' answer for how to make sure we look after ourselves and our colleagues and staff members whilst working amidst an international crisis. We are all different, some need strict routines while others need more freedom and others again need a bit of both and it may change from day to day. 

This is an opportunity for us to have a conversation about what we need from our workplaces to ensure our well-being. The session is facilitated by WRC trainers but we welcome everyone to participate and contribute. 

What will I take away? 

The session will cover: 

  • Expectations and boundaries: clarity and understanding 
  • Control of workload and upholding motivation 
  • Communication: what works? 
  • Reflections on personal and organisational wellbeing needs 

By the end of the session, you will have created a list together with the other participants on the session on best practice and tips to ensure well-being at the workplace. 


This training is delivered by Evelina Svensson and Laura Morris.

Evelina usually delivers the Feminist Leadership training programme and is delivering this training in May and June 2022.

This course is funded for London-based organisations working with those affected by violence against women and girls.
