What is it about?

Taking the wellbeing of its staff seriously is an important element of ensuring a healthy work culture, staff satisfaction, high quality work and staff retention.

This session will explore staff wellbeing with the aim to identify causes to wellbeing-related issues (with a focus on burnout)and to identify actionable and tangible preventative measures. We will investigate staff wellbeing in relation to organisational cultures and the specific responsibilities to ensuring staff wellbeing of the management and leadership team.

A one-size fits all approach to wellbeing does not exist and we don not have 'the' answer for how to make sure we look after ourselves and our colleagues whilst working in challenging  environments. We are all different and our needs will therefore also differ. That is why reflection – both individual and in group – is key in shaping an environment in which we can thrive.

This is an opportunity for us to have a conversation about what we need from our workplaces to ensure our wellbeing. The session is facilitated by WRC trainers but we welcome everyone to participate and contribute.

What will I take away?

The session will cover:

  • Definitions and discussions about wellbeing and burnout
  • Exploration of what we mean by “organisational culture”, its bearing on staff wellbeing and what informs and maintains said culture
  • Reflections on personal and organisational wellbeing needs

By the end of the session, you will have created a list together with the other participants on the session on best practice and tips to ensure wellbeing at the workplace.
