Job description: This is an exciting opportunity to be part of Women in Prison’s Mental Health Through The Gate service. The service works in partnership with the Mental Health In-Reach Team at HMP Bronzefield to provide psychologically informed support to women who have experienced complex trauma. We are recruiting for a Mental Health Through The Gate Advocate to provide in-depth advocacy, advice and support to a caseload of women who have multiple intersecting needs including a significant history of trauma, mental ill health and/or a diagnosis of personality disorder. Historically other services may have struggled to engage with these women. The role will provide support to women in HMP Bronzefield, through the gate (TTG) and for up to 6 months in the community. We actively encourage applications from candidates from a variety of backgrounds, and with a range of skills and experiences. We are particularly interested to hear from Black, Asian and minoritised women and women who have personal experience of the criminal justice system.This role is only open to women, in accordance with the sex-based exemptions of the Equality Act 2010 pursuant to Schedule 9, Part 1.

Location: Main base at HMP Bronzefield with frequent travel

Type: Full time

Salary: £23,622 per annum
