Investigating and exploring what makes a feminist leader of social change, this 1-day training explores topics related to power, organisational cultures and structures, the relationship between leadership and empowerment, self-care and emotional intelligence.

Who’s it for?

This training is for women staff members or volunteers in the voluntary and community sectors, local authorities and private sector.

What’s it about?

The training offers an exciting mix of theory and practice. Real life experiences and examples are interwoven throughout the day, providing the participant with knowledge, skills and tools to become a feminist leader.

Feminism, Intersectionality and Leadership

Introducing feminism and intersectionality through a combination of theory and exercises where the participants will get an opportunity to discuss and explore different concepts and terms. We discuss leadership through various exercises and cover topics of what we associate with leaders, traditional assumptions of leadership, how to lead well and the relationship with feminism.

Unconscious Bias Interrupted

We explore unconscious bias, where it can originate from, examples of how it can be manifested in the workplace, and how to interrupt and challenge such bias.

Burnout: Signs, Impact, Prevention

Burnout is a serious condition that mainly affects women. We investigate what burnout is, its symptoms and what causes burnout at the workplace. We thereafter consider measures, policies and procedures that the work place could take to prevent burnout happening to their staff.

Emotional Intelligence

Investigating the ‘four components’ of emotional intelligence through group work and self-reflection and analyse whether and how emotional intelligence is important to the feminist leader.

By the end of the programme participants will have:

  • Built their confidence in taking leadership positions
  • Gained capabilities of how to apply an intersectional and feminist way of working
  • Increased ability to lead and manage projects
  • Increased knowledge about what it entails to be a feminist leader
  • Gained knowledge and understanding of unconscious bias and how to interrupt such bias
  • Gained understanding of emotional intelligence and how to apply and develop it
  • Gained understanding of burnout, including symptoms, cause, impact and how to prevent it
