 About the Event

This is the second event in our online series entitled 'What Does Solidarity Look Like in 2020 and Beyond?', where we will be asking what solidarity looks like in relation to key topics affecting the women's sector.

The event will focus around collaboration both within and outside of the women's sector. The panel will bring together representatives from various aspects of the women's sector and parts of the UK, as well as those from other sectors including the race sector. It will be an opportunity to share best practice on collaboration, look at how we work well together and what we can learn from each other, as well as explore what is needed to further foster better collaboration to benefit all.

The event will consist of a panel discussion and Q&A for audience participation.

Speakers Include:
  • Rosie Lewis - Deputy Director & VAWG Services Manager, The Angelou Centre
  • Eleanor Lisney - Founding Member, Sisters of Frida
  • Tebussum Rashid - Deputy Chief Executive, Black Training Enterprise Group
  • Claire Dove CBE - Crown Representative VCSE
About the Series

The 'Solidarity Series' has come about out of a need for more space within the sector to have these important and necessary conversations. By the end of the series, we will have created a 'Women's Sector Solidarity Pledge' for organisations to sign up to that will aim to create better solidarity within the sector and beyond.

Other events in the series are:

  • Fair Commissioning for AllWhat does solidarity look like?
  • Intergenerational Feminism - What does solidarity look like?
  • Leadership - What does solidarity look like?

This course is funded for women’s organisations or projects based in London working with those affected by sexual and domestic violence. London attendees are given priority due to strict funder requirements. We will allow out of London participants providing there is space on the training course/event.
