WRC offers free one to one support to our member women’s organisations
to develop sustainable funding. This includes advice, information and
guidance on:
- Diversifying your sources of funding
- Engaging with commissioning and tendering for contracts
- Improving funding applications and tenders
- Developing trading and social enterprise
- Raising money from individual donors
- Developing partnerships
This also includes organisational development support related to sustainable funding:
- Strengthening your management committee/board
- Improving monitoring and evaluation
- Strategic and business planning
- Developing policies and procedures
- Meeting legal requirements
Following an initial assessment of your needs, we provide support at
face to face meetings, by email or by referring you to training and
other sources of information and support. We will work with you for a
period of 3 months or 6 meetings (whichever is sooner), then review
progress. For more information, please see a copy of our Agreement for
Development Support:
Criteria for 1:1 support
WRC aims for its one to one support to be available to the full range/diversity of women’s organisations in our membership. We will therefore provide support to both medium sized organisations and small, new organisations – we are aiming for 50% of the organisations supported to be small, and 50% to be medium size.
Generally, WRC members are offered one to one support on a ‘first come, first serve’ basis. However, at times when we have a waiting list for one to one support, we will prioritise some organisations over others, based on organisational size, in order to maintain a balanced caseload.
For this purpose, we define medium organisations as follows:
- Have an income of at least £50,000 per year
- Are at least one year old (since governing document signed)
- Have at least 3 active management committee/board members
- Employ paid staff
Please note: at present we do not support completely new women’s organisations to set up. We can give you information about other organisations that can help you if you are at this stage.
If you are a WRC member and you would like one to one support, please contact harri@wrc.org.uk or 020 7324 3031
