Consultation Response: Public Service Reform

Details: The Government wish to develop further policies that shift power to the users of public services and support the judgement of public sector professionals. In this consultation, the Treasury called for views on how a number of proposals could drive reform furtherin a range of service areas.

Topic: Partnership in Public Services

Consulting body: Office of the Third Sector
Date: January 2007

Details: The Women’s Resource Centre wrote to Campbell Robb, Director of the Office of the Third Sector, in response to the ‘Partnership in Public Services Action Plan’ for third sector involvement in service delivery. We commented on the eight commissioning principles outlined for future commissioning and procurement processes. We pointed out the ways in which ‘gender' was relevant to procurement good practice, as well as the need to ensure that women’s organisations are not marginalised in the commissioning process.
