As of November 1, 2009 the Women’s Resource Centre's membership fee structure will change.

In the current economic climate, many women’s organisations across the country are facing an uncertain future. Earlier this year our members identified funding as the biggest challenge they face and of those who did not renew their membership with WRC, 30% stated that it was due to lack of funds. A gender-neutral approach to grant making, commissioning and the recession are combining to have a significant effect on our sector, leaving many organisations struggling.

We are committed to the sustainability of our sector and to maintaining its vibrancy and diversity, therefore we have decided to eliminate membership fees for all organisations whose annual income is below £100,000.

In taking this step we intend to:

• Nurture smaller organisations with little infrastructure and funding;
• Strengthen and cultivate connections between large and small organisations, and;
• Contribute to the wellbeing and sustainability of the women’s community and voluntary sector, thereby improving individual women’s lives.
