Government announces new fund for Health and Social Care volunteer projects

The Department of Health have announced the launch of a new Health and Social Care Volunteer
Fund from January 2010. The fund will support volunteering projects that work on health, social care and wellbeing. The first round of grants will be awarded to local volunteering projects - there will be a second round of grants for national projects later in the year.

The fund is not yet open to applications, but organisations can email The Volunteering Fund for notification when the application process is open. Further information on this grant scheme can be found on the Volunteering Fund's website or by telephoning 0845 172 8058
