Funding news for women's organisations

New Comic Relief grants programmes

Comic Relief has released details of their grants programmes, including one on tackling domestic and sexual abuse. They are also funding work around ‘Vulnerable Refugee and Asylum Seeking Women’ and ‘Sexually Exploited and Trafficked Young People’. Ministry of Justice funding to reduce offending by women

The Ministry of Justice will be investing £15.6m to prevent and reduce offending by women. The funding will invest in the provision of additional services in the community to build capacity of one stop shop services at women’s centres and other specialist provision for women in the community. The Ministry of Justice is inviting bids for grants of up to £500,000 from third sector providers. Any interested organisation must complete a pre-qualifying-questionnaire (PQQ) to be considered – the closing date for return of PQQs is 3 July 2009. Hardship Fund opens for applications

The English strand of the government's £16.7m Hardship Fund will open for applications at the end of July. The Hardship Fund will support third sector organisations that are delivering front-line services to the most vulnerable and disadvantaged in society, and who have had their work affected by the recession.
